WHELAN-On Tuesday, January 7, 1896, at 5:20 a. m., Hanorah, beloved wife of Alexander Whelan, and sister of the late Sister Michael, of the Carmelite Convent, of Baltimore, aged fifty years. Funeral from the Church of the Holy Name, northeast, at 9 a. m., Thursday, January 9, 1896.

Veteran Baltimore Policeman Dead. Baltimore, Jan. 7. – Capt. Frank Toner, one of the oldest and best-known officers on the Baltimore police force, died to-night at his home in this city. He has been ill for several weeks, and his death was not unexpected. Capt. Toner was born in Ireland in 1849, and became a member of the local police force in 1871. He rose rapidly.
